Reviews are IN!!

... the principals .. gave impassioned performances.

Bryan Jackson as Iago offered the most convincing acting of the evening .. the “Credo” was delivered with power and drama.

Melissa Chavez offered the evening’s finest singing; the part of Desdemona was perfect for her voice, and she drew out long, musical phrases..

Kevin Courtemanche as Otello .. the “Love Duet” came off well, and his descent into madness in Act III was precisely drawn.

The performance venues for Riverbend Opera are delightful, intimate settings with limited seating.
Please reserve early to insure a seat.

Our traditional production for 2012 will be Verdi's masterpiece, Otello. This glorious work produced at the peak of the composer's productive years is unlike anything in the repertoire.
Our company for this production will include over 50 talented singers.
We are especially grateful to our supporting patrons, including Opera supporters in the Lake Barcroft Community in Fairfax County who present "Opera on the Lake,"
The Music and Arts Committee of Providence Presbyterian Church,
The Northern Virginia Opera Guild, The Southwest Chamber Players, and the Music Department of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

We are especially pleased to present a new opera by Washington composer Sean Pflueger based on a story by writer Stephen King, and licensed to the composer by the author. The composer has captured the excitement in a thrilling work which will be a Washington premier as part of the DC Fringe Festival.

If you are a singer and would like to join us for this season's productions, please send an email to us with a few words about your background and training or experience.
